Bersche-Rolt have extensive experience in improving the thermal efficiency of buildings through a wide range of external wall insulation systems, having designed and undertaken numerous cladding projects to both low and high-rise buildings.

Our holistic approach to structural repairs is central to our approach to external wall insulation projects. We will ensure any structural defects are resolved before cladding commences and the building envelope is able to withstand the additional loading requirements caused by the installation of cladding panels.

We are also experienced in the repair of external wall insulation where structural repairs were not undertaken prior to the installation of EWI and structural failure has since occurred. In this scenario we will remove the affected area of cladding, undertake the required repairs to the superstructure and then reinstate the cladding in order to retain the thermal efficiency of the building and leave the appearance of the cladding virtually unaltered.


  • Corrosion resistant high tensile Grade 304 or 316 stainless steel reinforcing bars (1.4301 to BS EN 10088)
  • Reinforcement with a characteristic strength of 500 Mpa (BS 6744:2016)
  • Bars are solid in cross section with a greater cross-sectional area
  • Fixed locating spacers hold the bars centrally in the groove or hole
  • Bars embedded in cementitious, shrinkage compensated, thixotropic bonding mortar with a characteristic strength of 40 MPa
